Rock‑Solid Security, Year After Year
For the 16th consecutive year, the Port of Baltimore has earned a top-tier security rating from the U.S. Coast Guard, covering key marine terminals including the cruise passenger terminal. The evaluation spotlighted enhancements like improved lighting, reinforced fencing, access controls, CCTV systems.
Royal Caribbean Exits – But the Future Isn’t Written
Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas, a staple in Baltimore since 2023, is scheduled to leave for Fort Lauderdale in late 2026, ending its service to Baltimore—markedly reducing the port’s cruise itineraries by over 40 annual.
Still, local officials remain hopeful. As noted by the Maryland Port Administration, Royal Caribbean has been an outstanding partner, and discussions about future seasonal.
Carnival Cruises Ahead, Bigger and Longer-Term
Stepping up from Royal Caribbean’s absence, Carnival Cruise Line has locked in a new five-year agreement, starting January 1, 2025, with an option for renewal—securing its presence in Baltimore through at least 2029.
